Jan, you cant say we are bailing on the work needed to be done..
As built we go no where!....
with out center up grade we aint gettin better than we have had from Brass & step.Hayes is not a top 6 off of last yrs' game
I dont understand : know your agenda & execute ..
Chi dosnt squeeze to get the fairest of the deals as long as there agenda is met
If they need to shed salary & get back certain pieces to round out or balance ther teams situation ...they do it ,they give teams what they want as long as they get what they want..cant be the best value of the deal..
Our agenda is to shed top talent to allow new leads to come in...
Shed : Nash step Kreids Staal..... sum talent & picks but take on the money...
thats close to 25 mill? goin out along with other changes could clear 30 +
before adding talent in the trades .....
dosnt have to be the great deal or you have missed the day ....
gotta retool to get STamkos
especially since no one is steppinup to make him see how much they want him...
Today & tomorrow will be major days to watch & see what the NYR is 2016-17
Vanek is a garbage out for NYR along with other deadwood on market ...Lucic?
for the money not worth it anymore.....
Go NYR make history by pullin off major moves to set up Stamkos day friday !.... |

Nice blog Jan. The team is already better and younger with the full time additions of Skjei, McIlrath and Buchnevich. Hopefully they make a couple more changes but not for the sake of just making a change. The changes we make need to make us better. |

Nice work Jan. That opening paragraph is classic old school sports journalism from, you know, when people read newspapers.
I agree with you about making no moves vs. Bad moves. If there wasn't this "rumor" of a shakeup, I'd bet the Rangers don't do much this offseason. Let's also remember that he got 4-5 guys signed to very good deals last summer, so I'm hopeful he can do that again. |

I try, I try. Maybe I will be wrong and the speculated deals will happen but as of now, it doesn't look that will be the case. |

I agree with not selling just to sell. I think a lot of the trades could be dependent on which free agents sign. Like Gorton was saying around the draft he is close on a lot of things, it might just take one domino to get all the cards rolling.
Also someone else brought it up, if certain teams miss out on free agent targets they want, they could come back to the Rangers later in the offseason. it's a good thing you are allowed to be 10% over the cap right now. Rangers might need that advantage. |

Good work, Mr. Levine.
Gorton's refusal to trade, for the sake of trading, is a good thing at the end of the day.
Fans that want to see moves, just because, are the same people that complained that they dealt Talbot and Hagelin last year. I think a big lesson was learned there because while Gropp can be a good player the immediate returns on both trades hurt the team. |

Is AV going to trust the young guns enough to give them a longer leash this year?
Re: Vanek
How much is a 32 y/o 40-50 point LW on the decline worth? Put him on the 3rd line and Stalberg on the 4th? |

Younger yes better remains to be seen. I agree bout not making moves just for the hell of it. But as long as Hanks is here you have to make moves that make team better now. |

Is this true? Wasn't aware that the Rangers could have a second buyout window potentially in August - TPC
I always thought that second window only opened up if a player went to arbitration |

So Gorton makes the offer to Miller with a wink expecting him to go to arbitration so they can buy out G.
Diabolical! |

I will never forgive him for E Staal. He better pull a McDonagh/Gomez trade to get my trust back. |
